We're an Active, Large Post

American Legion Post 229 has a modern facility featuring meeting and banquet rooms at 409 Herkimer Road in North Utica. Shooting for 701 members in 2010, the post is one of the largest in Oneida County.

Post 229 is very active, not only with its own events and activities, but also with sponsoring and supporting a number of events and organizations in the community -- from hosting bimonthly blood banks and weekly fish fries... to sponsoring baseball, Scouting and Naval Jr. ROTC... to supporting veterans in need and many charitable causes.

In addition to involved Legionnaires, members of the Legion Auxiliary and Sons of the Legion contribute to the life of the post in numerous ways, often making a difference in the success of fundraising activities and events like dinner dances and parties.
